The Fish Farm Project in Ras Al-Hilal

The Fish Farm Project in Ras Al-Hilal:

The project is located in Ras al Hilal, east of the city of Derna. The farm was established in 1999. It was owned by the private sector to a party belonging to the Gaddafi family, but currently the project has been suspended since 2011 due to the absence of those responsible for the farm and its violation by some unknown people. It is likely that the ownership of the farm will return to the Libyan state. The farm was working in the open sea farming system, there were two self-feeding cages (Ocean-Farm), in addition to 4 circular floating cages. The beach base of the farm consists of fodder storage and a building for workers and guards. the farm operates with a production capacity of 250-270 tons per season. The farm used to raise seabass and aurat and bluefin tuna, the entire production used to go directly to foreign markets.
